Last week, Debra-Anne and I took a trip to Dallas to attend the 2010 Mary Kay Pearl Seminar, and let me tell you it was an amazing experience. From the husband classes to Awards Night, the energy that is expressed during those four days is something that can only help to inspire and excite--not only your wife, but you as well. In short, Seminar is not a "women only" experience.
In fact, one of the added bonuses of being at Seminar is the fact that you get a chance to meet other husbands, who are intricately involved in their wives business, that will help you in defining your role in her overall success. I cannot tell you how much valuable information I received, from various men there, that clearly outlined how crucial my support was to my wife's work. Equally, I came away from Seminar seeing just how much my wife and I have in common in regards to our professions. Personally, as a minister, I saw the importance of investing in people, staying motivated and encouraged when it seems nothing is going right, staying focused during personal turmoil, and taking risks for the purpose of advancement.
And, in addition to all of this, let me express that Mary Kay does offer some "men time" as well by allowing time for the husbands to bond by setting up golfing excursions, as well as providing tours of the JFK assassination site, Ranches, and of the new Cowboys Stadium and Texas Rangers ballpark (and let me tell you, the Cowboys Stadium is a site to behold)!!!!!
So, start making plans now for the 2011 Pearl Seminar next year. You will be amazed of the blessings that you will experience there, and how they will enrich your professional, individual, and family lives!!!
